* During a medical
  malak - 11/24/06 15:55
  During a medical assessment following a slip on a wet supermarket floor 4 months before, a 48-year-old woman complains of frequent episodes of sudden loss of consciousness since the accident. Initial examination at the time of the accident revealed no evidence of head trauma or other obvious physical injury. The patient states emphatically that with the exception of her fall and its sequela, her life is going very well. Results of extensive neurologic examination, routine laboratory studies, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and an electroencephalogram (EEG) are unremarkable. The patient says that she is unable to work and has initiated a lawsuit against the supermarket for large monetary damages. She spends her days at home, where she lives alone with a pet dog. Which of the following is the most likely diagnosis?

A: Atonic seizure
B: Conversion disorder
C: Factitious disorder
D: Hypochondriasis
E: Malingering
