A 28-year-old nulligravid woman complains of long-duration facial and body hair. She noticed it starting shortly after puberty. Her menses are irregular and unpredictable, but this has always been her menstrual pattern. Although she is married and sexually active without contraception, she has never been pregnant. Her older sister and aunt have similar complaints. Upon general examination she is observed to be an obese female appearing her stated age with obvious coarse, dark hair on her upper lip and chin as well as on her chest and back. She has normal female breasts and body contours. Pelvic examination reveals male pubic hair distribution with a normal sized clitoris. On bimanual examination you palpate bilaterally enlarged smooth, mobile, nontender ovaries.

A: Cushing syndrome
B: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
C: Adrenal tumor
D: Medication effect
E: Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH)
F: Sertoli-Leydig ovarian tumor
G: Idiopathic hair follicle sensitivity
