  Sorry to hear that tyola, but if JHU is considering you then who cares about MGH. JHU is ranked as #1 in many areas of medicine, whereas MGH comes in at #4 to even less.

Have you also considered the following places since you are considering big name programs:
1. Stanford, CA
2. UCLA, CA
3. Mayo Clinic, MN
4. Brigham Young, MA
5. Duke, NC
6. UNC-Chapel Hill
7. UAB, AL
8. UTSW, TX
9. Northwestern, IL
10. NYU Hospital of Cornell/Columbia

I think all of these places may be appealing to someone who is vying for a place like JHU. Many of these places also are better off geographically than JHU.

I do have research experience an MPH degree and few months of clinical observerships

vitriol cornell and columbia programs are different

A. Cornell : new York Hospital in manhattan

B. Columbia : Columbia presbyterian in Wash. heights

  Cornell and Columbia have independent residency programs. Cornell is in the best neighborhood in NYC, Columbia among the worst! Among the big names, I like Yale better...friendly atmosphere and yet cheap housing and not too far from NYC or Boston for fun.
