thanx for your input wew2001, I wasn't sure of the situation of Cornell/Columbia....so if I'm following what you're saying, they are two independent programs, but train in the same hospital...
If you interviewed at Yale, I'm glad that you liked it a lot. Yale sounds like a nice place. Its a very small size (I think 10 C spots) for a university based program, but the program is supposed to be phenomenal. GL |

Vitriol102,
No, Cornell and Columbia don't even share hosp for training...they still use their own hosp from before they merged...Cornell uses the old "NY Hosp" and Columbia uses the Presbytarian. Therefore, the USNews ranking for NYPresbyterian Hosp can be very misleading since they only rank at #6-7 when both hosps were taken in to consideration. If one rank them separately, I think both will rank a lot lower...maybe 15-16 independently.
Yeah, I interviewed both at Cornell and Yale and I think Yale will provide a better life as one can own a car which will be a lot more convenient if you have a family than taking buses and subway in NYC... |
