  Why not percutaneous needle aspiration/transbronchial/or open biopsy of the lung? & which one you think cysts & which one used to identify the organism?
I know what other preach:) I want to know if you know the reason behind the BAL:)

  (BAL) gives you the best results + least morbidity and make BAL best of diagnostic invasive procedures TO FIND CYSTS.
All other I just name on biopsy come with complications (+ pneumothorax & hemothorax) & you know yield from sputum is low.
To find orgasm fluorescent Ab stains /tissue stains (i.e; methenamine silver or Giemsa, are used to identify -> organism).
