Q- N =183 cancer patient survivors

1 year - 90% 2 year - 75% 3 years - 50 % 4 years -40%

If the patient survives 2yrs what is the chance of surviving for 3 yrs ?

this q is from kaplan step 3 biostat 2018 . I copy pasted it . I think it means surviving to the 3rd year .

It does not have a given choice .

  surviving to the 3rd year if he survives 2 years is 50%. If the question was about surviving multiple years, then it is calculated based on independent probability
