quick question from uworld.
pt has heavy vaginal bleeding for 3 days with clots. +hx of mentrual irregularities, with normal BMI, and a negative pregnancy test.
she has anovulatory cycles>> tx with High dose estrogen for the breakthrough bleeds
reason: promotes hemostasis and proliferation of disordered endometrium and repairing the bleeding site.
my question is, is this a tapered estrogen that mimics the normal cycle in that their is a surge of estrogen and then a drop. its explanation seem difficult to understand |
