you do not need any help for getting SSN. Consider following points:
1. Only certain category of visa can get SSN. In general visa category in which a person can not perform legal job in USA is not eligibal for SSN. Say for example H1 can get SSN but H4 (dependent of H1) can not. F1 (student) can get SSN provided he/she has legal job offer but F1 without job is not. 2. Go straight to the near by SS administration office (find from ssn.gov) with your Passport, current visa, job letter and the person at the office will guide you. GL |
