Guys!!
The implementation of new bill might increase the number of Medicare-supported Residency Positions by 15,000..but the question is when?? Look at the below link http://web20.nixonpeabody.com/healthcare...ticle.aspx

It will raise the matching rate for IMGs from around 45% to around 80%, if not more, that if they approved the 15000.

did the add of 15000 new residency positions pass as well? if so ,neurosurgery PDs will be begging for residents in the near future.... because the total number of residency positions will be exceeding the total number of applicants!

I think the number of residency positions will mostly focus on primary care rather than specialty..If they increase the residency positions probably there will be more competion for fellowships..who knows??

are you kidding, this bill has brought back the most flexible era of 50's & 60's. I bet you in the coming years, hospitals will beg for applicants from all over the world to fill their slots.
