i ve got 85 in 1st step n 84 in 2nd step.. grad in 2004 but did junior residency in emergency med in our college (delhi).in 2005 for 6 mnths.. i gave csa on 12th july..so waiting for the result..currently i m in chicago n doing observership with an american doctor in his pvt hosp.. hope to get lor frm him..
1. actually i want to ask as per my case, shud i apply to int med/ peds..?? if yes then to how many colleges? i m planning to apply to around 50 programs of int med(only the community ones) n to around 30 programs of peds for back up... smbody told me that i shud apply to 10/15 programs of family med too..
plz tell me wat i m planning is rt or not? n wat u suggest..

plz tell me one more thing , the kind of observership i m doing rt now is ok.. i mean lor from an american doc matters or its the university frn where u do observership?
hey, plz do reply.. i really need ur suggestion n plz do tell me wat r my chances for internal med?? i m planning to give step3 as soon as i get ecfmg certificate..is it going to help as i will not be having its result with me during my interviews..

as long as ur careful to see that u come under the score reqs u shud be ok. 80 progs is a decent number. i wud say apply to as many as u can. the fp suggestion is not a bad idea esp since the first 20 odd progs per spec are cheap..

ur lor is ok. better than havin desi lor. give s3 asap - it will help u a lot

no1 can predict ur chances. its u and how u handle urself which will make the diff..
