Is it the same as diffusion?

10- A patient have an unexpected high value for diffusing capacity, this finding is most consistent with which of the ffg?
A- Anemia
B- Cystic fibrosis
C- Emphysema
D- Intrapulmonary hemorrhage

is diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide and it is used to look at gas transfer in the lungs...hope I am not wrong
Ulise you are right
Diffusing capacity increase in Polycythemia,Chf,intrapulmonary haemorrhage
decrease in Prmary parenchymal disorder,anemia,removal of lung.

But please ulise would you like to explain a little bit more on diffusing capacity,coz i am just assuming it on my own

That's exactly what i am asking Amarah,
In alveolar hemorrhage DLCO is increased due to the presence of trapped hemoglobin in proximity to alveolar gas , this Hb will absorb CO despite the actual severe limitation of gas exchange and oxygen delivery.
