Have anyone got J1 stamped from US so far ?
Or any one has applied for J1 from US ?
What documents/papers needed to be sent to them ?
Is there any interview ?
What documents needed for Interview if any ?

You can only get visa stamps outside the U.S at a consulate or Embassy. But you can get your visa status changed inside U.S.
thats right danille.....getting status approved is one thing and can be done inside US but to get a stamp u have to leave the country..afterall u dont need visa to stay but just ton enter

Plz share some more informations about that What sort of documents i need to send them for my visa status change from US. Your help would always be appreciated.

i am sure there must be a list of docs available ..

usually in addition to ur passport they need ut I94 offer letter etc..

i m sory i dont have the list for J-1 but it shouldnt be diffcicult
I haven't taken my J-1 Visa yet but these are the documents I am taking with me, will let u guys know if it worked out or not.

Passport (valid for at least 6 mths after the interview date)
DS-2019
DS-156 (filled electroncially)
DS-157
DS-158 (req differ for males and females so plz read carefully)
SEVIS fee receipt
Bank Statements, Pay Stubs and Current job letter
Letter of Offer/Contract
USMLE Scores
ECFMG Certificate
Medical School Transcript and Degree
Travel Itinerary is another thing I have heard that people take along, am not doing it though.
i think travel itinerary is for the canadian tourist visa....u need a cabdaian tourist visa first to go to canada and canada wont let u in unless u convince them that u intend to comne back to US...
where do we get DS 156,157 and 158 from
the forms should be availabale at USCIS.GOV
