Lyme:
three stages:
1.Localized: erythema migrans, fever, malaise, arthralgias.
2.DisseminatedConfusedecondary annular skin lesions, meningitis, carditis, neuritism AV nodal block.
3.Persistent: chronic arthritis, encephalopathy or polyneuropathy.

RMSF:
fever, myalgis, and petechial rash. Classically the rash involves the distal extremities (especially the arms and soles)
Tx:

Lyme dse= (+) eryhtema migrans give doxy if pregnant or < 9 yo give amox
(+) facial nerve palsy give doxy,if more serious neuro give ceftri
(+) 1 AV block give doxy if more serious give ceftri

RMSF= give doxy but if pregy give chloramphenicol
