methotrexate- inhibits dihydrofolate reductase

mercaptopurine and thioguanine (both purine analogues that inhibit purine synthesis),
azacytidine (limits pyrimidine synthesis by inhibiting orotidylate decarboxylase),

hydroxyurea (inhibits formation of deoxyribonucleotides from ribonucleotides),

5-fluorouracil (inhibits thymidylate synthase) and

cytarabine (AKA cytosine arabinoside, which inhibits DNA
polymerase).

any more??
daunorubicin and doxorubicin.

hi joannitam, both daunorubicin and doxorubicin are not mentioned in kaplan pharma under S phase..
so i browsed... it seems that these are cell cycle nonspecific drugs. explanation.. those that bind directly to DNA are not cell cycle specific

Duanorubicin & doxo (binds to and intercalates DNA, DNA strand breakage and inhibition of the enzyme topoisomerase II)
other examples of cell cycle nonspecific drugs-- dactinomycin, mithramycin
Etoposide is also S phase drug. ( eukaryotic topoismomerase inhibitor)
