A tumor in thr floor of the 4th ventricle has comressed the abducens nucleus in the dorsal part of the pons. Your pt exhibits an internal strabismus. What else might you expect to see in the pt:

A-an ability to voluntary look to the left with either eye

B-an inability to wrinkle the forehead on the right

C-a sensorineural hearing loss

D-alteration of taste on the anterieur 02 third of the tongue E.

5-a righr ptosis
correcting the typo:

E. a righr ptosis
which side of nucleus is being compressed? anyways, u will see ptosis which is actually pseudoapoptosis.
i'll assume that the tumor is on the rt side..
cc
D, the facial nerve lies close to the abducens nucleus and can get compressed, leading to loss of taste of ant 2/3 of the tongue,
wats the ans?
B.
if tumor is on right side, than answer is ptosis right side. if tumor had affected facial nerve which wrap around abducens nucleus, than b and d would also be possible. but i still think E is correct.
B/
if it is B, than why D is not possible? just curious
