after chief resident explained the pt with end renal dis ask u a Question even though pt demand the oral regime since he does not like to be injected y pt cant be given erythropoitin orally

well... let me try,,
its either a very simple or a very tuff (lol) qn....

erythropoetin is a hormone... glycoprotein,,, hence will be digested in the alimentary tract.. so no bioavailability...
but mucoadhesive tablets of Epo are showing promising results in mice ,,,,
