i think first step is KUB....N THEN USG...correct if m wrong...

for gall stones is USG
best step is non contrast ct
1.urine analysis
2.KUB
3.CT

Noncontrast Helical CT best for renal stones..[kaplan}

only Masses, abscess, tumors - Contrast
KUB is Xray Film right?

[hmm...so if question asked, Px has flank pain, what is the best next step? do you choose KUB over CT if both are in choices even though CT is the bestest?]

best step is Non contrast CT...

use Contrats only for Masses, Tumors, Abscess..
yes i think kub is done first...when pt having a flank pain...u wont directly jump to ct
