33) Diagram shows....contraction of a blood vessel segment in response to in vitro administration of norepinephrine (NE) before and after drug X is given. After the drug X is given the action of NE is increased (contraction increased).

what is drug X 'sounds very mystiful' ?

a) cocaine
c) isoproterenol (the ans selected)
d) metoprolol
e)phenoxybenzamine
f)reserpine
g)tyramine
wats d choice b???


drug x could be either non selective alpha blocker or TCA drugs........so i will pck COCAINE

unstable ..........if u get drug y in ur exam with opposite effect that is decrease in NE response pick either alpha 2 agonist such as CLONIDINE or a muscarinic agonist like ACH
but in vitro admin of cocaine is not gonna block reuptake rite??? so can it be metoprolol?? even though it s a B1 blocker it ll hav some minimal B2 blocking action also rite???
metoprolol z cardiac selective..
