is score is a major criteria. wat about other parts of application
when the market is inudated with 99ers, the price will naturally going down - but the products still good-looking though.

call me a sour grape if u want.
sure it factors in a lot. but not the only criteria though.year of graduation is also very imp to a lot of programs
Read how people are getting 99's. Programs are dumb to just see 99's .
High scores is one of the factors...
But not all the time it plays a crucial role..

It depends on the program...

some program use only the step 1 score..while others only step 2
some uses year of graduation...while others USCE

a lot of programs just find their candidates by interviewing..

And some candidates get selected by connections....
I am sure scores matter the most for us.. and maybe being a fresh graduate. I have no usce, and have gotten 7 IV's so far at good univ affiliated hospitals. It is definitely a mistake to solely apply at top univ hospitals based only on your 99 scores. But if you are not so picky abt programs, I am sure things are not as grey... America needs doctors, that's a fact and that's why we are here for.
