A 60 y.o.afro-american woman got to the ER with acute chest pain. She also complains of perspiration, nausea and light-headedness. Her BP is 90/60 ans PR is 42/min. ECG shows s-t elevation in inferior leads. After initial treatment, her BP is 120/70 and HR is 76/min. She now complains of sudden deterioration of vision & severe left eye pain. Which is the most likely eye problem in this lady. Also give reason why it was precipitated in this particular case.
1. Iridocyclitis
2. Retinal art thrombosis
3. Retinal Venous thrombosis
4. Intra-vitreous bleeding
5. Retinal Detachment
6. Glaucoma
I think it is retinal vein thrombosis........3 ?

ksayona and maverick, u guys are right, but you didn't go about it right.....read the question again...d o u really want to start this lady on b-blockers?
the answer is 2.. the person was CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE and was having a STEMI. They used TPA to bust the clot. A piece of the clot broke off and travled up the carotid artery into the retinal artery and lodged there casuing SUDDEN PAIN and decrease in vision... venous occlusion is less sudden and does not usually follow and MI

ksayona and maverick are right...just reason a little more....tell me WHY
I would go with glaucoma (6) because the patient may have been given atropine for treatment of bradycardia, which may precipitate glaucoma.
