ordering arthrocentesis?

or pleaural fluid analysis before pleural tapping?

or CSF analysis before LP in our CCS exam?

just wondering.

the software will prompt u that this procedure needs a tap of abdo/joint/pleura. say yes to it and u r good to go

so i can order fluid analysis first! that will be awesome.

u can order it but this will cut off points, because ideally before tapping anything you would need to do Pt/PTT/INR, order appropriate consults, and then order tests on the fluid that you tapped;

in the CCS, its not just doing the things required but the way you order things is also important, I could be wrong, just thought I would share this

so we have to wait ,pt/ptt result and consult result then we can do arthrocentesis ?

now here comes the point ahyu.

if u know somebody put presurgical evaluation of PT, PTT rocmmneded or not yesterday. and it was mentioned that if pt not on anticouagulants or no history of bleeding disorder or coagulopathy than PT, PTT not required.

now in our CCS point of PT, PTT before the procedure. same thing migh apply.

but it will be wiser to do it to remain on safe side. i believe we need to wait for result. but 99.99% it will be normal in the exam.

for the arthrocentesis yes do it !
specially if in vague cases and in children...may be u have hemophilia?

will u wait for PT, PTT result before u order arhtrocentsis
