question#10
what is that lesion on hand??????
also question#27 of same form n block , is that renal infarction or metastatic cancer?????????
Hi drelena: for the Question # 27 the correct answer is E( this is Renal Cell Ca) with Sx of brain metastasis.
Question # 27: shows Much of the kidney has been replaced by gray and yellow tumor tissue. A little remaining renal cortex and pericapsular fat are visible at the bottom of this surgical specimen
but a t the cortex there is also a wedge , what is tht. wedge?isnt it infarction?
yes at the cortex( wedge) there is infarcted tissue with necrosis.
About question # 10 : the correct answer is ( E) in the Dx is Verruca Vulgaris( Warts) produced by some strains of HPV. If you note the description in NBME : thickened stratum corneum and epidermis and vacuoleted squamous cells is the same like " Hyperkeratoses"( menas hypertrophy of the stratum corneum of the skin. In NBME the gaive you that description , but at the same time in the exam they could put you the same question with the same option but in different way.
Check this slide of Verruca Vulgaris in a finger:
