q. patient presents with pain over anatomic snuff box. X ray is normal

1. analgesics and repeat x ray in 2 to 3 weeks

2. cast immobilization and repeat x ray in 2 to 3 weeks

non diplaced fracture.....> cast immobilization for 6-12 wk
dispalced fracture...........> open reduction and internal fixation

treat with cast. X-ray will be normal untill 3 wks, if x-ray after 3 wks shows angulated fracture.... open reduction nd internal fixation
