I received my score today. Passed it with a low score 189/76.

Anyway, i am happy with it.

My experience:

My preparing time was about one month. I just did the UW MCQ without timing once. I did some of the UW CCS once. I did the USMLE CD and the CCS without timing. For every test i did not calculate my score. Because my step1 and 2CK score are all above 90, I thought i would pass the step 3 easily. I did not work hard on it.

After my test, i thought i would fail. Then I got the NBME questions from my friend and tried to practice it. My god! i just read first five of the question, i found 4 of them were appeared in my test. What a pity, i did not do any NBME question before my test. I should commit suicide if i failed the test.

About the CCS, i do not think we should pay a lot of time on it. I just did the USME CCS and less than 20 UW CCS case (my friend give me them in a screen print format). My performance in CCS are very good.

My performance in the initial work up is OK. The continue care and urgent care showed a poor performance.

I hope all of you who are preparing the step 3 test will be lucky and never take the test before you do a solid review of the book and questions. My way in taking the test is terrible risky.

By the way, this was my first and last attempt. I passed all others in my first attempt.

UW MCQ only is definitely not enough. I passed the step 3 test just by luck.

I think you should do more exercise with others such as Kaplan and NBME. For step 1 and 2ck i did much more exercise and i had decent scores.

In addition, I the CCS test, I did not find any questions which appeared in UW CCS case. But the way to deal with these cases are very similar. My performance in CCS in the graphic score report is very good.

The graphic report also showed that my performance in the contents related to step2 ck knowledge is very good; but the performance in patient continuing care is terrible poor. It suggest that my review the UW only is definite insufficient in step 3 test. Please do more home work than i did in order to get a decent score.
