Intracranial aneurysms are present in 5 to 10% of asymptomatic
patients with ADPKD. Screening of all ADPKD patients is not recommended.
Any presenting symptoms or a family history of subarachnoid hemorrhage or sudden
death should prompt further screening with magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) or
CT angiography or consideration of cerebral angiography.
