Hi
Can someone share info about these two programs:
1.ST Vincents, bridgeport
2.St Lukes, MO
How good are these programs, felowships opp's after residency, whichone you rank better
no one to respond...
both are good community programs, with decent fellowship opportunities, except in competitive specialties. i would rank st luke higher.
Both are good Univ-affliated community programs.
I interviewed at both.I would rank st vincent higher than st lukes.
Till recently it was affiliated to Columbia and NYMC.The hospital has recently undergone a maasive 140 million dollars expansion.
2 hours from NY and colse to Boston.
I interviewed in St Vincent too.
I would agree with @drcatch22
I interned at St. Vincent's for 1 year. I loved the internal medicine program immensely. The caliber of doctors and specialists and teaching that you will be influenced by is world class, and the cafeteria is ridiculously delicious. There is a cancer center that is expanding on the side, and the clinic work is walking distance from the main hospital. The clinics are great, with friendly nursing staff, great access to procedural materials and good communication with attendings. I have to reiterate, the cafeteria at St. Vincents is amazing. Also parking is great, in gated multistory parking structure that's brand new; there is a cafe right in front for those caffeinatedly challenged. If you are interested in surgery then the top 10 in the nation cardiothoracic standing for St. Vincent's should impress you. They have every kind of surgical specialty, except for transplants, at this hospital. I scrubbed in for AAA repairs, neurosurgeries, stomach stapling, knee replacement surgeries; emergency ex laps, laparoscopic colorectosigmoidectomies. The surgical attendings can be dicks but they do have kind hearts if you get close enough. The internal medicine team, however, is exemplory. Particularly one attending, who is also the preliminary residency coordinator is very impressive. She was a friend to me from the outset. I ended up taking surgery in the west coast, but I would have loved spending a few more winters in chilly Connecticut.
hey cardio
thanks for the great post
the attending you mentioned, was her initials F.H ?
Met F.H at St Vincent's, cool personality
