A 27 y/o primigravida woman at 38 week gestation is admited for labor Her pregnancy was uncomplicated and routine prenatal visit 2 days ago showed no abnormalites
On admission fetal heart tones can not be heart USG shows little amniotic fluid fetal edema and no evidence of fetal heat beat After 1 hr she deliver a 3175 g stillborn infant Examination shows no obvious abnormalities THe placenta and membranes appear normal Which of the following is the most appropiate immediate course of action
A Notify the hospital liability department
B obtain contest for fetal organ donor
C recommend autopsy of the infant
D Tell the pt not to worry b/c she can get pregnant again
E tell the pt there is a 1 in 4 change of the recurence in the future pregnancy
C. recommendation of autopsy of the infant is highly desired. It helps in healing the psychological wound inflicted by the fetal demise
