wat is the metabolic abnormality in pulmonary embolism ?
Im not sure but is it respiratory acidosis?
the primary defect wud be respiratory alkalosis
explain?

PE cause respiratory Alkalosis as exp. by puo,

Airway obstruction caused Respiratory Acidosis & u would agree the V/Q changes of P.E & airway obstruction are different from each other...
BUT IN KAPLAN PHYSO. MENTION THAT DEAD SPACE DUE TO THROMBUS CAUSE CO2 RETENTION?EXPLAIN PLEASE
i didnt get ir properly guys!! you have high Co2 in blood, Po2 goes down so...respiratory acidosis...To compensate that patient will hyperventilate....I am confused what's the primary problem here..acidosis or alkalosis???
