ERAS 2012 REPEAT APPLICANTS CAN REUSE SOME SUPPORTING DOCUMENT TYPES

If you participated in the ERAS 2011 season and also participate in the ERAS 2012 season, ECFMG considers you to be a Repeat Applicant. You will be identified as a Repeat Applicant at the time you make an ERAS 2012 Token request via ECFMG's OASIS.

As a Repeat Applicant, you are not required to resubmit:

- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
- Medical School Transcript
- Photograph
- Letters of Recommendation (LoRs) that were transmitted to the ERAS PostOffice during ERAS 2011

REUSE OF MSPE, MEDICAL SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT, AND PHOTOGRAPH

ERAS Support Services automatically uploads your stored MSPE, medical school transcript, and photograph to the ERAS PostOffice as part of your ERAS 2012 application within one to two business days from the time you use your Token to register at AAMC's MyERAS.

REUSE OF LORS

The reuse of LoRs is not automatic. To reuse LoRs, you must select them through ECFMG's OASIS. If you select to reuse an LoR for ERAS 2012 through ECFMG's OASIS, do not submit a copy of the same LoR to ERAS Support Services via mail or courier for scanning; this will cause delays in uploading your LoR to the ERAS PostOffice. If you do not plan to reuse an LoR listed in OASIS or if you plan to submit a modified version of an LoR listed in OASIS, do not select the LoR to be reused in OASIS. Once you have saved your LoR selections in OASIS, you will not be able to make any changes to the list. Make your selections carefully.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Only those LoRs that were transmitted to the ERAS PostOffice during ERAS 2011 will be available for reuse for ERAS 2012. If you submitted an LoR but did not reserve a slot for the LoR in MyERAS during ERAS 2011, that LoR was not transmitted to the ERAS PostOffice and will not be available for reuse for ERAS 2012. To use that letter for ERAS 2012, mail it to ERAS Support Services, accompanied by a completed Document Submission Form (DSF).

Unless significant modifications have been made to any of the above document types, ERAS Support Services at ECFMG highly encourages you to reuse these document types. The electronic transfer of documents streamlines the submission process and allows ERAS Support Services to provide a quicker turn-around time.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Documents that are transferred from your ERAS 2011 application to your ERAS 2012 application are not eligible to be returned through the Return of Document Service (RODS).

For more information, including instructions on how to reuse LoRs, visit the Repeat Applicants page in the ERAS Support Services section of the ECFMG website at www.ecfmg.org/eras.

Thanks for the info!
