Hello friends i gave my exam yesterday but i did fallowing mistakes on ccs
please tell me can i pass with this
1. 6 months old m with fever poor feeding i gave iv fluid order blood and urine cultures chest xray basic lab and gave ceftriaxone and vancomycin and forworded the clock
while looking at results the case ended i did not added lumbar pncture is this going to fail me please help me iam depressed
2.i orderd ct non contrast and then vq scan for pulmonary embolism rest of i did well.
3.cervicitis first i ordered pregnancy test then shifed to ward and done physical
please iam depressed and in trouble.i appreciate for your responce.

In your 6 months old, what did you find in Physical exam? did you tx pt as menengitis case?

child is irritable not taking feeds and no wet dipers

1. if u r suspect sepsis, then u did fine, and not doing LP wont fail the case. again you will still get the credit of ur approach., how long it took before the case end, it should be close to 15 mins on average. you are senario make the case endedl in less than 10 min which isnt possible unless something else was done incorrectly....give more details to help you

I dont see any problem that will make u fail the ccs part. i think you are in good shape in regard to the above....u can mess 2-3 cases and u can still pass the exam knowing ur mcq is good

I had a 5 months old male, with fever crying, irritability and refusing breastfeeding in office case. I did PE in office first, then every things was ok except Erythema and bulging tympainc in ear, I tx it as otitis media in ward with iv since pt was not taking any by mouth. I did not do L.P but I did urine and blood culture. Now I am thinking It might needed to do sepsis work up? I think the case last 10 min or so and was saying pt is feeling better and fever went down.

can i ask what was ur rationale behind using ceftriaxone in an infant.if th child was feeling better then i reckon you are fine.

oo hhhhh, i can remember now there is frontenella bulging i think
i could have ordered at leaset ct. i think i lost the case,but the patient feeling better after some time and case endeed.

dear sami ,
i think i chosen cefozoline[i think] instead of cefoxine + doxycyclin for inpatient cervicitis
will it fail me ,iam in post trama stress.
