I want to share my experience as I got many ideas from this forum and now it is my turn to give some experience to people here, I took my exam on first days of may but has been in so much stress till last night, because I did awful on ccs I can say just two or three cases got better and case ended in a good way other cases awful even I was wondering why I forgot even simple things my first case was not good and the same for second and third case and I was very panic as i heard before we can not make mistake for more than one or two case on ccs this made me so panic that I was not able to concentrate on other cases so frustrating almost all other cases I had very very stupid approach eventhough the time was enough and I did diagnosed the patient very well but I believe I did awful on management and my approach was stupid all these months after exam I was thinking how stupid person I am !!so much stress as I did not do well and I am old grad how can I stand in match if I fail in step 3 and all these thoughts made me so stressed out
even I did not want to talk about step 3 with most of my friends as I was sure I will fail and did not want to explain to everybody this failure
but thanks God I passed and my performance on ccs was high?!!
my advice do ur best for preparation but do not stressed out if case ended early or if surgeon denies or if patient becomes frustrated as many of my patients on ccs did not say they are good and soem of them become frustrated do not worry and do not stressed out before results just because u feel bad with the cases after exam.for ur information time was more than enough for ccs cases .
regarding mcq first day it was long questions but doable.second day blocks are shorter and questions are much easier.regarding material I used mostly uw and mtb also I got great help from premier review it is great.good luck to every one
A Big and Hearty Congratulations Smile I was even thinking yesterday when you are going to take it. Wonderful. You got rid of the USMLE. All the best Smile
tnx dear doc it is nice to hear of you long time no see what did u do ? tel me on skype
Thanks 4 the post fyi, surgeon will not deny if sugery is needed
gyn ,,, congrats a lot on passing this monster,,i need your opinion about premier,,i am reading it but its written very strange,,did it reallly help,,i was thinking that i am a big fool that i wasted a lot on time on it..need ur opinion as i was thinking to start studying from some other book,,but need ur opinion about it,,i have done uworld once,,and now really confused about prep material,,feeling really lost
Congrats, gyn!

I had the same experience like you in the CCS part. After the exam, i thought i did horrible in about 5-6 cases..and most of them except one was not that hard, but could not manage as I wanted to. although i had a sort of good feeling about mcq part, with horrible feelings on 5-6 cases in ccs, i just felt that i lost the opportunity to pass. I even did not talk to anybody with those silly mismanagement and mistakes, and was getting ready for another try.

but i passed and the ccs score in the middle between borderline and high score. Thanks to the forum members for being the best support in this journey to conquer the Everest!
Hi Gyn ... I sent you a mail. Reply me when you got some time. Enjoy this summer Smile
hi drock i did not get ur email send me again or on skype
drdandruff sorry for delayed reply I was busy with my observership program for premier I strongly suggest to work on it very very helpful I can tell u when I revised the infectious disease the day before exam there were about 4 to 5 questions straight from this
babjoba ofcourse the surgeon wont deny surgery if it is needed but I mean I managed the case so horrible that even surgeon denied it but still passed it is not that sensitive exam
@gyn - u are right dear infectious disease portion is written good,,actually what i feel is that premier gives pointers,,it lacks in sequencing the material at times,,thats what bothers some time,,and can u please guide me which state medical board to select while applying for step 3,,thanks
I live in california and chose california
