which drug could cause it?

iodine?

perfect very close ...

it is APLASIA CUTIS due to PTU (propylthiouracil) Rx.

also AZATHIOPRINE cause AC.

I thought PTU was safe to be used in pregnancy but not methimazole.

propylthiouracil and methimazole both cause fetal risk when used in pregnancy.however,PTU is preferred over methimazole in first trimester.in 2nd and 3rd trimester methimazole is preferred

yes, Methimazole more dangerous than Propilthiouracil.

BOTH drugs belong to THIOMADIES pharmacologic group.
