Took my step 2CK in July. Started studying for step 3 end of September on and off (I am in school as well). Started focused study in First week of December (9th), exam Jan 30 and 31. I also went for my interviews during my study period.
Study materials: MTB 3, UW, Archer notes not the videos(no time to watch). For the UW qbank I could not finish it a second time, I was about 75% gone. I also read the notes I made from step 2 UW qbank .
For the CCS I started off with watching the archer videos ($88). Then I went through the 52 cases twice and then the print out cases twice. Archer is really good and forms a good foundation to start the CCS preparation.
UWSA 231 a month before.
NBME 3 410 about 2 weeks before
Real score 215
Exam day. Day 1 had time issues with only the inpatient/ED section (2 blocks). Day 2 had shorter questions. I recognized few questions from uworld.
For the CCS all my 20 minute cases except one ended at about 10 - 11 minutes with the patients having signs of improvement. My first case never got better and up till now I don't know what the patient had. Tried everything I could. Anyway....
MY CCS band ranged from lower performance to borderline to higher performance. It is important to realize that these assessments do not test your CCS knowledge so even if you do well in them it is also important to know the CCS well so that a poor CCS doesn't affect the real score.
I think UW is very essential for this exam in my opinion. It is a doable exam and I wish everyone preparing the best of luck. Good luck to all in the match...
