Graduated 1999, internship in my home country 2000. Low scores 209/200/pass no attempt US citizen no step 3 yet, I think working as a nurse in an acute setting helped me be noticed by programs and used as my USCE. I'm a mother of a 2y/o boy and working night shift full time while preparing for the exam. If feasible for you, apply in Ca (where I matched, no other interview from other states)not too much competition compared to other states but visa is an issue. It was my interview which made me shine. Be yourself and answer questions with a heart. Let them feel your passion that you are worth to be given a chance. And most of all pray, pray, pray...it is in His hands. And by the way my hubby (YOG 1999)matched also in IM with one interview! Amazing!!!
Congratulations!!!!!! That is a double celebration!
Thank you, nucleo! Good luck to you!
Congrats. doc_feu,What should I do to do nursing.
Befoucsed, you need to take up nursing 18 mos, then take nclex or state board. Good pay ($40-50/hr)and can sustain you while applying for the match plus good USCE especially if you work at ICU. I never thought it would be a plus to me but it did! GL
