My friend thinks going to PR to do a Internship because he did not match , does that gonna help him to get a residency? your help will be appreciated

if the place he's going to also has a residency program, tell em to apply there and be sure to impress the faculty / PD while he's there .. better chance of matching at the same place you do your intern/externship at
