So I took the exam with about 6 solid weeks of hardcore studying but about 3 months studying total
I used MTB CK as well as MTB Step 3, Uworld quant, uworld ccs, archer ($88)
I did not complete uworld ( had 200 questions left, and I had 11 CCS cases I did not look at including the read out cases). During studying I volunteered for assisting with research, had an Externship, and I had to work part time to survive somewhat.
NBME 3: 410 (14 days before exam)
UWSA: 217 (5 days before exam); reason I decided to take the exam
Day 1: I felt comfortable had enough time to complete blocks with a few remaining mins to check marked questions. There was a mix of "gimme" questions as well as wth are you asking me type questions. There was at least one drug ad per block I usually skipped it and did it last or guessed if I had marked questions that I wanted to review. I only marked questions to go back to when I know I could answer with a bit more time. Ones I had no clue about I chose an answer and moved on without marking it. I had 5 blocks of in patient/office and 2 blocks of ED. I had 47 questions on first 3 blocks and the rest 46. At the end of the day I did not feel horrible nor did I feel ecstatic. I felt it was just ok.
Day 2: I felt the MC on this day were tricky so I had a difficult time but timing was fine. I hated the two part questions where you had to select the answer before you moved on to the sequential question. I would know right away whether I was right with the first answer or not. 50% of the time I was wrong smh. The CCS cases were fairly straightforward. 10 of 12 cases ended early after patient improvement. The other two cases were lost causes. One of them no idea what it was and the other I knew what it was but patient wasn't improving no matter the treatment. I ended the exam about 1.5hrs early. I did not sleep well prior day 2 exam but I think I managed ok.
I hope to have slain this last beast! I am trying to remain busy until the results come back.
