Hi all! I found out I passed yesterday and just wanted to share my journey for those who are prepping for the exam! I was studying on and off starting January, but I didn't get hardcore until end of June. UWorld was the most helpful source for both MCQ and CCS. I tried doing archer for ccs..it was good for learning the strategies, but I got bored trying to get through the rest of it! I kept doing UWorld over and over again as many times as I could, reading the explainations was like reading a textbook! I also read master the boards, both CK and step 3...I complied my notes in there and kept reviewing it. If I still had trouble with certain topics, I went to other sources, such as First Aid and Boards & Wards. In terms of NBME, I did not take any to assess myself, but I did do the questions offline as well as the FREDA questions. There were repeats and similar topics, so it is definitely beneifical to go over these! I did not do the UWorld assessment, so I honestly had no indicator of how I was going to do on the exam. But I knew that I had done everything I could and studied everything, so thats when I knew I was ready and confident to take the exam! Consistency is key, so keep pushing yourself, and do not hestitate to take a day off here and there and enjoy it! I would get burnt out at some points, and would take weekends off and it would totally refresh me....goodluck to all, and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask
can you pls tell something ,how to prepare for ccs
I am doing only u world ccs?? is it enough 41+52 cases
hi! Yes UWorld is enough...you are not going to get the same exact cases on the exam, but your studying overall should help you to get through the cases! Do them over and over...I wrote the cases all down and numbered them, and would check mark them off as I went through them! I starred the ones that I had trouble with, and would pay more attention to those...also do the FREDA cases as well, that way you will get used to the software that is on the exam, bc uworld is a tad different
Hi Congrats .
Where did you compiled the notes of UW whether in MTB2 or MTB 3?
Thanks.
I complied notes into MTB 3...I already had my CK notes when i took CK, in that book....i forgot to mention i also did kaplan qbank, a little more than half of it, but i only did it for practicing timing, not to actually learn from it! I think this really helped with timing on the exam, bc I didn't have an issue with it
What do you recommend I had my CK notes in MTB2?
Should I annotate UW in MTB 2 or MTB3?
thanks
If you already have notes from ck in ur ck book, then can add step 3 notes in there... If not then I would put them in step 3 book
