My test is next Monday, and Thursday. Please advice.

I would postpone the exam if I was in your shoes. Review everything once again thoroughly esp your weak areas and give another assessment. It's not that you cannot pass the exam with a 191 on your assessment, its just that you are more likely to fail with that score as 190 is the pass on real exam. Most people drop 10-20 points on the real exam.

Thank you very much for the comment. I am looking for a passing score, as I am already in residency. My program director is pushing me to do the test. She got mad when I postpond last time. They threat to stop the training. I would like to do study more, the program is pushing and pushing, and I am so stressed

my exam is on Monday June 1st, not this Monday. Do you think one week will be enough to review ? Should I review and then the other simExam, the NRMP one ? please advise

hi nadia ...I agree with tmpsmx it's better to postpone ..wait a minute ,is there anything to lose if you fail step3 (god forbid) since you are already in residency ??? if no then you can take the risk otherwise just postpone ..good luck

when is the last possible date you can take the exam as per your program. Are there any consequences of failing the exam if you take it? mind you, if you take the exam and unfortunately fail it, you would have wasted 3 to 4 weeks of worth of prep you could have put in now and actually passed the exam. I believe you should talk to your PD and beg her for at least 3-4 more weeks as you seriously need them. and maybe clarify what are the consequences if you go for it and not make it.

If the exam is on monday the 1st technically you sort of have a week and half and will only have to milk 2 more weeks out of your program director. i would ask for a two if possible three weeks extension, improve my score to about 205-210 and then go for the hail mary.

Per the hospital new policy, I wont'' be able to sign the contract for next year if I don't have the results of step 3. If I take the test, on June first, and then 3 weeks to get the result. Then I will be able to continue the training without interruption. My program director was pushing me to do it on April, or lately May. She got very mad, when I e mailed her that I pospond till June 1st, and 3rd.

My eligibility period is May, June ,and July, but it is very hard to find a seat in the exam center, given the fact that a lot of resident in this hospital are taking the test, based on the new hospital rule.

It is frustrating, I don't mind posponding, and doing more review, it is those people who ask me about it every day " when will be your test ? when we will have the results ? why are you not taking it now ?"
