Hi guys, I passed step 3, phew!! My score is not great but I'm glad I'm through with it.

It was certainly the toughest of all the exams in USMLE. I barely had 2.5 months to prepare as I was working and I had to take this exam in time to have the score to apply for this season. My only suggestion to all those who are preparing to take this exam is - work hard, step 3 surely is the culmination of USMLE and is not to be taken lightly.

I used MTB 2 and 3- read both once, archer CCS - did all the clips once, UW MCQs and CCS- did both once and took notes. I revised my notes over and over again, even when travelling in subway. I practiced CCS lots in the gap between my two exam days. I did well on CCS and mediocre on MCQs per my score report. I wanted to use more study material but I didn't have time.

Day 1 questions very difficult for me and day 2 questions were relatively better but I was running out of time on both days for MCQs. CCS was pretty good and I always finished before time ended.

For the last 3 weeks I was dreading the result day and had palpitations during the days and sleepless nights thinking about my misery and the outcome of this exam. Now I feel relieved that its all behind my back.

That's pretty much I have to share about my step 3 experience. All the very best to everyone here and hope you all reach your goals! CHEERS Smile
Congrats!
Did you take any self assesments?
And how are CCS cases in comparison with UW 51 cases?
Thanks. I could not take self assesments. UW 51 cases give you a good insight into CCS. Do them well, again and again and you should be good. Hope that was helpful
Thanks!

Hi pernicious,

how many days apart do you think is good to take both parts of exam?

@chipotle- It really depends on your comfort and availability of dates at your test center. Previously people had to take both days back to back and that must have been very tiring..... but now you can choose your dates any number of days apart as long as dates are available.
Mine were 2 days apart. Good luck !
Hey congrats on being done with this journey.. Can you please tell apart from MTB 2/3 what books should be done? Thanks..
@mahr90- thank you. Like I said I did not have time to use anything other than MTB 2 and 3, I cannot suggest other books that might be useful. As far as MTB 2 and 3 are concerned, I can say that if you can use both books for step 3, it will be helpful.
Good luck in your prep!
Congrats
..... how much was ur average in uworld
@kasem26- my UW average score was 60%.
Good luck in your prep.
