female, 35yoa, occassionaly protruding mass from rectum; some constipation; denies bleeding.
First diagnostic test
(1) acute abd series
(2) anoscopy
(3) barium enemia
(4) colonoscopy
(5) sigmoidoscopy

We should advised patient
(1) change to low residue diet
(2) continue present diet
(3) drink prune juice daily
(4) take bulk forming agent
(5) use bisacodyl suppositories
any takers?
hemorrhoids im thinking. 5) because can also look over diverticulosis as well. tell pt to increase fiber and 5?
same thoughts i have, for most likely scenario of hemorrhoids...any other thoughts?
@itsthatdo: Hey there!! I think its hemorrhoids or rectal prolapse (protuding mass from rectum o bleding) can be anything. Cant we do anoscopy first??
For constipation, whats wrong with bulk forming agents (Metamucil)? Please do explain the answers. Thanks !!
