A neuro exam of a 47 y old woman reveals normal corneal reflex in her right eye but no consensual corneal reflex in her left eye. Which foll additional features might be expected?

A Absence of pupillary reflex of left eye
B Hyperacusis of left ear
C Inability to abduct the right eye
D Loss of pain n temp of the left face
E Loss of taste from the anterior 2/3 of right tongue
F Ptosis of left eye
GUYS WHATS WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! WHY ISNT ANYONE TAKING THIS UP??
B and E are both possible, depending on where the 7th nerve lesion is.

She clearly has a lesion in the 7th nerve on her left. If the lesion is to the 7th nerve itself after the tast fibers have left, then B is the answer. If the lesion is in the brainstem then both B and E are the answers.
Oops, nevermind, B is the answer. I didn't notice at first the E said "right tongue."
GOOD! Smile
