There was a question on nbme form 2 as follows: I will appreciate if anyone can guide me about the correct answer

Which of the following is the most likely primary structural protein of mitotic spindle?

a. actin
b. desmin
c. myosin
d. tubulin
e. vimentin

thanks
I think DESMIN
U can read whole topic from here
http://www.web.virginia.edu/Heidi/chapte...ameset.htm
D. tubulin
The mitotic spindle is composed primarily of microtubules, a polymer of the protein tubulin.
i think its tubulin.
(victory1 isn't desmin the intermediate filament of muscles)
actin-microfilament
vimentin-vascular smooth muscle,fibroblasts
desmin-smoothmuscle,skeletal & cardiac muscle
myosin-skeletal muscle

ans has to be tubulin
i agree with tubulin too but here are some asides
tumor markers
1 desmin muscle
2 cytokeratin epithelial
3 vimentin mesenchymal
4glialfibrillary acidic protein astrocyte tumor
