I know many of you have stopped believing in your possibilities.
I know that this process is so crazy that many of you wonder if they will ever become doctors in America. I have good news for you: each year I interact with hundreds of IMgs and many times I have been surprised at various results. Some candidates with attempts and only one interview were granted a residency position with one even obtaining a prematch.
I was also surprised to see candidates who had 15 IVs but was did not match.
Many candidates received IVs in Oct and Nov. So I believe, not getting an IV in Sept does not mean the game is over.
There is another consideration that you should be aware of. Many strong candidates will be offered prematches and will cancel their remaining IVs in Oct and Nov, that will free positions for many of you during those months.
