Nobody will spoonfeed you.

planterstep3, I have tried to get into various research positions. Unless you are going to get lot of publications. Dont do it. Because everyone who has gap does that. I did that mistake. Now look back I wished I did some masters instead of wasting my time. You would get a degree and also it looks different than other CVs. Any way I did not match so this is just my opinion. Ultimately it is upto you and your situation

I know the person with low scores (no attempts) who did 2 masters and it didn't help her to match.
I did research and it helps so every case is unique.
