0 - ArchivalUser - 05-26-2018 in a case control-study if prevalence is low OR can be used to estimate RR. For ex if OR=2, there is "two-fold risk" of developing a disease from the exposure. the problem with this is that OR overestimates RR. OR is a/ b divided by c/ d while RR is a/ a+b divided by c/ c+d so OR=0.6 the risk of colon cancer in the aspirin users is 0.6, when compared to the nonusers. It is < 1, indicating a protective effect of aspirin. So aspirin reduced the risk of colon cancer by 40%=1-0.6=0.4 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-29-2018 thank you 0 - ArchivalUser - 06-01-2018 Good Q. 0 - ArchivalUser - 06-04-2018 good explanation 0 - ArchivalUser - 06-06-2018 thanx 0 - ArchivalUser - 06-07-2018 any tutor for biostats? 0 - ArchivalUser - 06-19-2018 there are 0 - ArchivalUser - 06-24-2018 I am worried about biostats, it has not been my favorite subject, is there anyone who can explain it to me? 0 - ArchivalUser - 06-26-2018 You should not. biostat is very important for step 3. 0 - ArchivalUser - 07-14-2018 I need a sp |
