primary care leans more towards general practice while the categorical has more of a specialty focus; in other words, if you plan to specialize after your residency then you may want to consider categorical, but if you're just gonna stick with your FACP then go for primary care.

some programs are primary care ( categorical). they r of 3 years same as categorical but more emphasis on primary care.
