Mixed venous oxygen conc (MVO2) - triplehelix - ArchivalUser - 03-31-2007

Just a short note, yet important.

1. PCWP: > 18 mmHG: pick up cardiogenic shock.
2. PCWP : Normal or less than <18 mmHg: think of othr reasons of shock.

Now, If MVO2 is normal (~15) : its Septic shock
If MVO2 is decreased (<14): its neurogenic or
hypovolemic shock

if mvo2 id decreased i think we can add cardiogenic shock to the d/d
as CO is low.. the tissue will extract more o2 therefore decreasing MVO2
triplehelix can u confirm this...
