if you are on a windows machine, to open RAR files you need a program called WinRAR. Simply google it. A trial version is available that works for 40 days. After 40 days it still works, but it has a "Register me" style pop-up that opens when the program does.
RAR is simply a different form of compression from ZIP. Download WinRAR and you should be good to go. Once unpackaged, the files in the RARs are PDF files.

click the links. When MIHD.NET loads, click the spot that says "request download link." The page will refresh and a link that says "download file" will be working. Press that button and you will be good to go.
Once downloaded, use a compression utility to open the RAR files-- see the post above on how to do that if you don't know how yet. It would behoove you to download WinRAR, as many many many of the USMLE files that I have found online come as RAR files.
