Medical assistant or research - malathi - ArchivalUser - 05-11-2007

Hi all,

I am planning to go for residency in IM in 2008. here is my situation right now, got a research volunteer position at a virology research clinic affliated to big university(not much patient contact). Also got a medical assistant opportunity in Family practice at a private clinic. Please suggest me which is better?

Thanks a lot & really appreciate ur suggestions.

It depends on ur scores. If ur scores are good go for research. If ur scores are not that good then I woud suggest go for FM medical assistatn. First one is helpful for applying to IM and second one would be helpful for FM. THis is my opinion. Because if u have experience in FM they would love to take you in to their residency program. If u have experience in Research IM people would love to take u. But if u have low scores dont go for research.
