usmle123 CSS - heartman - ArchivalUser - 07-08-2007 I'm curious, I'm getting nailed for ordering out of sequence on the 123 site. Is the real Css the same way? One case I knew right away she had a PE ordered the heparin gtt, but it looks like I should have ordered it later??? I dont understand this. Then the 123 site wants me to counsel the pt, before the 5 minute mark..its wacky!! 0 - ArchivalUser - 07-08-2007 no but it is very very important believe me. its the best practice out there, that site is great for ccs believe me, as painful as it is, do at least each case four or five times, and then spend a couple of hours on the real software, you will notice a huge difference in your confidence. Real ccs the format is different, but you can get some of the exact same cases as from this site. I trust in it, it helped me pass. Sequencing is important, in the sense that stable or unstable patient. Otherwise just routine stuff or management, its not nearly as critical. Stablize the vital signs before ordering any labs in an unstable patient. 0 - ArchivalUser - 07-09-2007 usmlesteps123 are ok but don't depend solely on them, they are not enough. try to read other CCS material. UW and shaher CD 0 - ArchivalUser - 07-09-2007 Thanks, I'll keep practicing 0 - ArchivalUser - 07-09-2007 Please clarify, on the real test, will I get points deducted because I order the echo early in a presentation of pericarditis versus the usmle123 cases, where if I order it earlier than "their schedule" I get screwed. Dont I get credit for ordering the damn test on the real deal??? I'll order 10 different test, but it may not be what their sequence wnats, so then do I to reorder all over again on the next advance so I get credit. Its like the computer never recognizes I ordered the tests, only i did it earlier...WTF!!!??? 0 - ArchivalUser - 07-09-2007 You just mentioned the limitation of usmle123, their program is set up in their own sequence. So never depend on that. usmle123 is just to have the expeience of how a case of CCS may proceed in real exam. Now if you go to usmleworld CCS cases they have the same pericarditis case, in real exam you have to follow the way they have proceeded, do your order according to that sequence. 0 - ArchivalUser - 07-09-2007 thanks 0 - ArchivalUser - 07-09-2007 the whole think is not real. I mean they pretend to know how to evaluate your work and give you a score at the end. I know that USMLE does not reveal that information. |
